Are you a farmer or an artisan in need of reliable and high-quality fiber processing services? Look no further than Dakota Carding! With over years of experience, we are committed to providing exceptional processing services for sheep wool, llama, and alpaca.

We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and environmentally friendly practices. Our mission is to provide our customers with the best possible experience, from start to finish. That's why we offer a wide range of services, from blending fine and coarse fibers to custom dyeing and hand spinning.
We understand that each customer's needs are unique. That's why we don't have a minimum size for an order, but there is a $10.00 minimum charge. You can rest easy knowing that you will receive your own wool back, washed using environmentally safe products. We clean our machines between each run to ensure the best possible outcome for your fiber.
At Dakota Carding, we also offer color blending, carding of leftovers, exotics, very long or very short fibers, and thrums. However, we do not card 100% mohair or 100% angora rabbit. These must be blended with at least 50% wool or other fiber. At this time, we are also not carding fine bombex silk or suri alpaca, no matter what the blend.
To ensure the best possible service, it's important to prepare your fiber properly before sending it to us. We recommend skirting your fleece and making sure it's not contaminated with plastic baling twine, hoof trimmings, sticks, stones, burdocks, wire, etc. The cleaner the fiber is when you send it, the better the end result will be.
We also ask that you do not send us tightly matted or felted fleece. Shorter fleece (4" or less) cleans up better, and the longer the fiber spends on the animal, the harder it is to card. If an animal has been stressed or ill, it will show in the fleece. Check for break points, and keep in mind that guard hair doesn't card out. White, black or dark fleece shows remaining debris the most.
To complete your order, simply fill out our fiber processing form and enclose it with your shipment. Shipping address:40053 James Road Groton, SD 57445. If you have any questions about our services, please don't hesitate to give us a call at 605.228.9199.
In conclusion, Dakota Carding is committed to providing top-notch fiber processing services to meet your unique needs. Whether you need sheep wool, llama, or alpaca processing, we have the expertise and experience to ensure you receive a high-quality product.
